AMHERST – The University at Buffalo Division of Athletics announced that contemporary swing revival band Big Bad Voodoo Daddy will be performing as part of the UB Tailgate Concert Series prior to the Bulls’ football game against UMass on Oct. 19.

With such hits as “Go Daddy-O” and “You & Me & the Bottle Make 3 Tonight,” Big Bad Voodoo Daddy is celebrating 20 years of feel good swing music and has sold millions of albums. The band recently released their eighth studio album titled “Rattle Them Bones” and is currently on a nationwide tour.

The band hit pop music superstardom with their appearance in front of millions during the halftime show of Super Bowl XXXIII, while their 2003 New Orleans inspired album, “Save My Soul,” shifted focus to playing theaters, performing arts centers, and large outdoor venues to selling out shows at the Hollywood Bowl, Walt Disney Concert Hall, Lincoln Center, Chastain Park and Constitution Hall, to name just a few. The band often plays more than 150 shows a year and has appeared as special guests with many of the great American symphony orchestras including the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, National Symphony Orchestra, and U.S. Air Force Band.

Big Bad Voodoo Daddy is the second act announced in the Tailgate Concert Series that will take place outside UB Stadium two hours prior to every Saturday home football game this fall. It was announced last week that two-time Grammy Award winner Kool and the Gang will be playing prior to UB’s homecoming game with Eastern Michigan on Oct. 5.
