KATRINA joins MEATLOAF on “Mad, Mad World” Summer Tour!
New single “So Eden” quickly climbing Billboard Charts!
(July 19, 2012, New York, NY) – Vocal powerhouse and critically acclaimed songwriter KATRINA joins legendary rocker MEAT LOAF on the North American leg of his “Mad, Mad, World” Summer Tour” beginning July 21 in support of her recent release In the Blink of An Eye (Red Red Records). The 11-song album produced by the award-winning producer Val Garay (James Taylor, Linda Ronstadt, The Motels) features the hit songs “So Eden” and “Shame on Me.”
KATRINA first came to national attention in 1990 at the age of 12 after winning the Junior Vocalist Competition on the nationally televised talent show Star Search against future R&B singer Aliyah www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Dx_5SLhIvM. She was offered various recording contracts from major record labels at the time, but the experience created problems at home for the child star and soon the thing she loved most wasn’t fun anymore. “I decided to stay in school and try to live a normal life, recalls Katrina, “I just wanted to be a kid,” she says. Katrina went on to college and then law school becoming a practicing attorney before deciding to return to music professionally.
“I never stopped writing or recording. It was something I did to relax. And although I sang backup for friend’s bands, it wasn’t until I went to see Cher a few years ago that I realized just how much I missed singing professionally,” Katrina told the UK Daily Mail in a recent interview www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-2119442/Katrina-reveals-return-music-20-year-break-finally-right.html. “I loved practicing law but felt a stronger urge to go back to music; I missed the stage and touring. People ask me ‘don’t you regret not signing a deal when you were a kid. Imagine how many albums you’d have out by now’, but I really have no regrets. I have had an amazing life journey so far, I’m very blessed and I believe I’m exactly where I’m supposed to be right now.”
