The Robert Cray Band and Mavis Staples will be on stage at River Rock Show Theatre Saturday, Sept. 28.

With five Grammy Awards and millions of record sales worldwide, blues-rock icon Robert Cray is considered one of the greatest guitarists of his generation. Recently inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame, Cray is one of the youngest living legends to receive the prestigious honour.

Mavis Staples also boasts her share of Grammys. She first arrived on the scene as a member of the Staples Singers whose voices provided the living soundtrack to the Civil Rights Movement in the early ’70s with such anthems as “Respect Yourself” and “Let’s Do It Again.” Staples also began her solo career at the same time releasing eight albums from the ’70s to ’90s. In 2004, she released Have a Little Faith—her first album in eight years.

Tickets to the 8 p.m. show start at $59.50, and are available at ticketmaster.ca or 1-855-985-5000.
