Bluesman Robert Cray first burst into our consciousness back in 1986 with his album STRONG PERSUADER, and its tales of hurtful relationships and love gone wrong. Cray has since moved from the personal to the political in his songs, and always with a strong undercurrent of soul music. The implicit is made explicit on his latest, IN MY SOUL, which features some soul covers, an homage to Booker T and the MGs, and some originals that capture the spirit of soul gone by and soul to come.

Check out The Robert Cray Band with a lesser-known Otis Redding tune, “Nobody’s Fault But Mine” this week on the Radio Show.
