Laura Reed
South African born singer/songwriter Laura Reed has been captivating audiences globally with her dynamic vocals, vulnerable songwriting, and inspiring live performances. Laura cut her teeth as an artist early on, performing at coffee shops and street corners from age 16 throughout North Carolina. Laura currently resides in Nashville, Tennessee where she was beckoned by mentor, former music executive and Grammy-award winning producer, Paul Worley.
It was Paul who introduced Laura to 2X Grammy award winning songwriter/producer Shannon Sanders (India.Arie/John Legend/Pink) and encouraged a collaboration. Laura and Sanders immediately hit it off and began writing and performing locally. Laura is currently working on her debut album, “The Awakening” with Sanders and Worley. The first single off the project “Faith not Fear” was released in May of 2012. Laura’s authentic “slow-cooked soul music recipe” is reminiscent of iconic music trendsetters like Erykah Badu, Adele, Sade, Lauryn Hill and the late Amy Winehouse.
