CLEARWATER – The city of Clearwater confirmed the artists to perform at the eighth annual Clearwater Sea-Blues Festival scheduled on Feb. 15-16, 2014 at Coachman Park. Co-headliners are the Robert Cray Band and Vintage Trouble.

The five-time Grammy Award winning Robert Cray Band brings a self-described rock, soul, jazz, blues, gospel-inspired sound to the festival. The band is currently touring its newest album Nothing But Love. Robert Cray is currently writing songs for the band’s next album, which will have an even stronger political edge than previous releases.

There’s a good chance those who haven’t heard of Vintage Trouble will know them very soon. Since releasing their first album The Bomb Shelter Sessions in 2011, this retro rock/blues band is blowing up across the globe. Only one hour after an appearance on a London television show the band became the sixth most tweeted topic worldwide. They’ve already appeared on the Late Show with David Letterman, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Conan and Jimmy Kimmel Live. The band has opened for Bon Jovi, The Who, The Rolling Stones and Dave Matthews. Their growing fan base calls themselves “trouble makers.” Yahoo Music describes the band’s sound: “Imagine James Brown singing lead for Led Zeppelin, and you’ll get an idea of Vintage Trouble’s muscular, in-the-pocket sound.” The New York Times writes, “Like Otis Redding, Vintage Trouble makes music that is a little bit of everything. You can slow dance, groove, rock and let it all go.” Vintage Trouble has a second album set to release next year.

Other nationally known acts performing at the Sea-Blues Festival include Savoy Brown featuring Kim Simmonds, Ana Popovic, Peter Karp & Sue Foley, Eric Lindell, Marquise Knox and Samantha Fish. More artists are expected to be announced. Event schedules and information are subject to change.

In addition to great blues inspired music, the festival will offer some of Tampa Bay’s finest seafood cuisine. Baystar Restaurant Group has confirmed its participation in the event. A full list of participating seafood restaurants and vendors will be announced soon.

Admission to the event is free with limited reserved seating and VIP tickets available soon. For more information visit clearwaterseablues.com. For sponsorship information call Kris Koch at 727-562-4805.
