If you’re gonna make a show about vintage toys, you better have some vintage guest stars.

It took Toy Hunter several episodes to realize this, but now the Travel Channel series hopes the allure of retro celebrities along with now-valuable action figures will entice viewers. Tonight it kicks off a third season with a cute episode that features an appearance by Darryl “DMC” McDaniels from Run-DMC.

Daniels, who declares that “toys nowadays suck,” approaches host Jordan Hembrough for help in finding cool old toys to give to his children’s charity. The pair then visit a dude in Staten Island, N.Y., who owns a treasure trove of Mego action figures. McDaniels nearly loses it and offers good money for the loot.

Upcoming eps of Toy Hunter will feature Stan Lee, Vanilla Ice, Hulk Hogan, Gary Busey and others — and while many of these guys aren’t exactly A-list, they’re all pretty captivating personalities. (I’m guessing they’ll talk about the toys inspired by themselves, too, like this one.)

Toy Hunter airs Wednesdays at 9 p.m. ET on the Travel Channel. Watch it with your kids, and maybe it’ll inspire them to start caring about your old stuff.
