In an astonishing double bill of powerhouse blues and roots, legendary blues guitarist Robert Cray and gospel and R&B icon Mavis Staples share the Power Center stage playing individually and performing together for a special night of musical magic.

Considered one of the greatest guitarists of his generation, Blues Hall of Famer Robert Cray’s “distinct razor sharp guitar playing introduced a new generation of mainstream rock fans to the language and form of the blues” (Rolling Stone). The five-time Grammy Award-winner joins us in support of his latest release, In My Soul.

Mavis Staples has been a solid rock of American music for over six decades. From the delta-inflected gospel sound she helped create in the ‘50s, to soul anthems with her family’s iconic group The Staple Singers like “I’ll Take You There” and “Respect Yourself,” her warm, earthy voice has been a soundtrack to social movements and American eras. Here celebrating the release of One True Vine, her follow up to 2010’s Grammy-winning You Are Not Alone, both produced by Wilco’s Jeff Tweedy, prepare for a night of knock out performances.
