Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings and the Robert Cray Band are among the groups that will perform at the Lowdown Hudson Blues Festival, a pair of free outdoor concerts at Brookfield Place in Battery Park City on July 16 and 17. The festival, now in its fourth year, is presented by Arts Brookfield, a real estate concern that presents free arts programming at the World Financial Center and at several of its other properties.
Ms. Jones and her musicians will headline the July 16 bill, which also includes the No BS! Brass Band, a group that melds elements of New Orleans blues and jazz with rock, rhythm and blues and soul, as well as a third band to be announced later. On July 17, Mr. Cray and company will top a bill that also includes the singer-songwriter John Hiatt and the saxophonist James Carter leading the James Carter Organ Trio.
