AMY WINEHOUSE FOUNDATION TO PRESENT GRANT AWARD
TO BROOKLYN CONSERVATORY OF MUSIC

WHAT: The Amy Winehouse Foundation will announce a grant award and present a check for $25,000 to the Brooklyn Conservatory of Music (BCM) in support of the BCM’s Teen Jazz Scholarship Program.  To-date, BCM is one of only two organizations in the United States to receive a grant from this foundation, whose mission is to support and empower children in need through music education and therapeutic programs, as well as, on-site facilities for addictive behaviors.  http://www.amywinehousefoundation.org/us
BCM’s Teen Jazz Program offers a comprehensive program of private lessons, jazz combo rehearsals, R&B Choir, Teen Jazz Big Band, and jazz theory classes, taught weekly by some of New York’s leading jazz professionals.  Scholarship students who come from all over Brooklyn would not be able to take part in this program without support provided by funders such as the Amy Winehouse Foundation.

Scissura, City Council Member Sara M. González and representatives from the Office of New York State Senator Velmanette Montgomery, Office of City Council Member Dr. Mathieu Eugene, NYC Department of Cultural Affairs, National Guild for Community Arts Education, and Brooklyn Community Foundation
