Darryl “DMC” McDaniels wants your “ATTENTION PLEASE!”

Legendary Run-DMC co-founder teams with NCIS’ Pauley Perrette to bring “Attention Please!” to multiple causes with “double sided” digital single.

(New York, NY: November 15, 2011) The much revered and respected, multi-platinum recording artist Darryl “DMC” McDaniels has released a “double sided” single, “Attention Please!” and “Rock Solid” from his upcoming album entitled Rock Solid. The song “Attention Please!” features Pauley Perrette, rock singer and star of the TV show NCIS who was recently voted the #1 most popular star on primetime television. Produced by Mike 13, “Attention Please” showcases DMC’s iconic powerhouse rap interspersed with Perrette’s smoky vocal hooks. The song tells viewers to “do something please” – an action packed explosion of Hip Hop and Rock positivity and passionate testament to the many nonprofit causes that both McDaniels and Perrette hold close to their hearts, including advocating for the rights of children in foster care and promoting adoption.

McDaniels and Perrette met just last year and immediately bonded. “Working with Pauley P,” says McDaniels, “is like working with Joan Jett, Janis Joplin, Sarah McLachlan and Sheryl Crow with a splash of John Lennon! Adds Perrette, “As a longtime fan of the legend DMC, it was outstanding to collaborate on such a hot song with such an amazing guy that I am now very proud to call a friend.”

The flip side of the double sided single is “Rock Solid” – a high energy rock/rap track produced by Jared Lee Gosselin (India.Arie, MC Lyte, Matt Sorum, Floetry, Macy Gray) who DMC calls “a Rock n’ Roll God with production and song arrangement skills out of this world!” The two met when they collaborated on a cover of Frank Zappa’s “Willie the Pimp” in honor of Zappa’s birthday last year. Both new tracks have corresponding videos out this week. “Rock Solid” directed by DMC , and “Attention Please” directed by Bryan Olinger

DMC recorded both tracks in Los Angeles, in between tour dates and appearances to help raise awareness and support for foster kids and adoption. He has won several awards for his philanthropic efforts including, the coveted Children’s Rights Award and has been a guest at the White House to speak to young men about responsibility.

He is a 2009 inductee into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and co-author with writer Bruce Haring of the critically acclaimed book, “King of Rock: Respect, and Responsibility & My Life with Run-DMC.” With Run-DMC he has sold over 25 million records worldwide and helped changed music, fashion and history.

McDaniel’s VH1 documented story of his search for his birth mother, entitled DMC:My Adoption Journey won an Emmy Award in 2007 and he has been a guest at the White House to speak to young men about responsibility. DMC along with Emmy Award winning Casting Director Sheila Jaffe (Entourage, The Sopranos) co-founded The Felix Organization http://www.adopteesforchildren.org to help “ give back to those children who didn’t get taken home or who are growing up in the foster care system.”

Both songs, “Attention Please” and “Rock Solid” are packaged together as a “double sided” single on iTunes “to,” according to McDaniels, “give people something authentic and extra. When I was with Run DMC we always gave an Aside and a Bside because we loved making music.”
